Though this seems to be the newest H&M poster it is merely a fun idea with a cool dress (not from H&M I'm afraid), a torch and the evening sunlight.

I love the pose, the colours (as always) and the beautiful angle of sunlight.

Bringing the contrasts together again with loads of colour and glory. I love the intensity, the style and wonderfulness brought together by imagination. The same model as last time - she's great to work with - who brings the sport and fun into solid brick buildings.

This is inspired by the Addams family, the little girl Wednesday who's quite unique. I dressed up my model and took this picture that can tell any story. I love photos that tells a story - but still a different story to each audience.

I'll be using a model this time. Though the theme appears to be the city/nature contrast, I find that the fairytale coat hanging over it gives it a new twist. The city keeps fading away as the strong-standing tree cares for the few birds left. The model, my sister, looks part Gucci/part fairytale princess and is therefore stuck between the contrasts of the story - a lovely combination.

Again I want to grasp something new. Even though I have developped a style that can be located in most of my pictures, I like to change the setting and subject. This was of course taken at a wedding, a beautiful young bride looking back at her father. I love the magic the colours create in this picture.

Gettin Animalistic in PicturEstic

Something new this time - exotic animals. A straight shot in Africa, as a rhino came out of the grass and bushes, brushed by the early morning rays of the sun. A beautiful sight then as now - I can even feel the dry heat through the yellow dusty colours contrasted with the blue coldness of the shadow.

Aspendos romance

Again shadows intrigue me. This is a picture taken in the famous Aspendos Roman Amphitheatre under the performence of Carmen a couple of days ago (a beautiful show!). The shadow being made by me means that the photo on the other hand, is not. But since the picture was my idea, I'll take enough credit to put it in my PE blog:P The sharp colours hit by the darkness of the evening sets the right mood; a romantic, exotic, heated night filled with music and art.

I had fun in both lightroom and digital image pro with this picture to get the right specifications: the colours, the shadows and the undefined character situated alone on the right side of the photo.

This doll entransed me from the first moment I saw her at a flee market in France. How beautiful and cold she was in her metallic clothing, her flaming hair and red red lips.

I find this picture quite spectacular, I think succeded in capturing her beauty.

Choices

What makes a good picture? Do you need the best camera, the best lighting or the best setting? I cannot chose, as every picture I take specializes in one area (if only I could have it all..). Do I prefer to take pictures of nature? People? Animals? There's no specification yet, I just need something that can tell me something more.

I guess I'm a sucker for black'n'white if I'm not totally satisfied with the picture.. Or the colours. I hate to waste time - that would be one of the things that makes me very unprofessional.

These pictures, being very different, show what settings and colours that interest me. It pleases me to look at them. I cannot find a word to sum up what I'm trying to capture. I guess it's just "the wonders of the world" so far.

Tonights sunset made beautiful lines and symmetry in nature. Just by causing the shadows to fall in a certain direction, darkness becomes beauty.. My friend Maria, posing in this picture, has hardly a shadow at all.

It's curious to see how the earth's overwhelming greatness swallows us.

Lost on the other side of the mirror

With PicturEstic I wish to publish some of my favourite photos and show how I progress as a photographer by using tips and tricks from other web-sites. And of course, I would love some advice, critic and comments! I've been taking photos for some years now, but I still have a lot to learn.

The picture on the bottom of this page was taken in Bordeaux, France. I simply love the reflection from the children running around on a thin layer of water. The photo is obviously turned up-side down, and I've used a lot of dark shades and shadows to darken their faces and figures.

For me, they represent shadows of a bright and enlightend world, but they are still happy. However, we do not know what world they are playing in - we can only see a reflection of it.
